The 78th Independence Day of Sri Lanka was celebrated on February 4th 2026 at the Manmunai West Divisional Secretariat under the leadership of Divisional Secretary Mrs. Namasivayam Sathyananthi.
The event included hoisting the national flag, singing the national anthem, a moment of silence for fallen heroes, and an Independence Day address highlighting collective efforts for divisional and national development.
As part of the Independence Day week, tree planting and voluntary community service activities were carried out under national programs, with participation from various divisional secretariat officials.
