Under the Clean Sri Lanka initiative and the Sri Lanka Army's proposal, the "Aththama" National Cleanliness Day ("National People's Mission for a Clean Country") was successfully held on September 19, 2026.
Led by Manmunai West Divisional Secretary Mrs. Sathiyananthy Namasivayam and joined by local authorities, army and STF personnel, health officials, and community members, the main volunteer Shramadana campaign took place at the Kannagi Nagar Cemetery in Pavadikodichenai. A key highlight of the event was that simultaneous cleanup activities were conducted across all villages in the Manmunai West division to support the overarching vision of achieving "A Beautiful Country – Smiling People."
